DJ Interviews: Rolling Rock

Hey there guys DJ Dizzy here & I did an interview with the band Rolling Rock who shared their musical origins

How'd you get started in music?

Chihirock and Takerock began their band from junior high students.

We continued to perform once a month or more in Tokyo city for almost 6 years.

In 2006, after coming back from US east coast short residency Chihirock,  began a new . This is  Rolling Rock. They played concerts and private parties in Tokyo.

In 2010, ex-bassist was leave and Takerock joined Rolling Rock as the bassist.

In 2013, Their First EP was released from Takeman Records in Tokyo.

In 2020, Rolling Rock decided to release 1 single each month.

Also new member, Micarock joined the band.

Chihirock is NY based artist now, Takeshi is musician in Tokyo.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

We were inspired by Tokyo local punk and ska band, and we grew up in the 90's.

In the 90's, Japanese music distribution companies began huge rock festivals (exam, Fuji Rock Festival, Summer Sonic.) We are inspired by these bands from the USA, UK and other countries.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

Keep doing. If your neighbors say “Your music is not my favorite. “ You will find friends and listers in all around the world.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

Rolling Rock is a self produced band. And we have original messages on songs by their true lifestyles. This is our original.

Any new gigs or albums in the future

After this pandemic situation, we released one month one single. (Original songs released from Apple Music, Spotify etc. Several cover songs released from SoundCloud.)

Next single “The Terminator” will be released in November through Apple Music, Spotify etc.

Gig information is TBA (we will share from our instagram or twitter!).

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them lots of luck in their music so until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!
