DJ Interviews: Unveiled

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & its time for another interview, This is a band who specializes in Dark roots based rock music & they answer to the name of Unveiled. Here's what they had to say on their success.

- How'd you get started in music?
I've been singing since I was a little girl. I did choir, talent shows and student radio in high school. It was in third grade that I asked to have a guitar and started to compose and write songs, but I was playing for myself locked in my room.
It was only 12 years later that I wanted to find musicians to form a band.
I started doing shows with my first real band; Blame Adrianne.
Thereafter, I played in Innervoice (my solo project), Les Gilles Thunder and I started as lead singer for Unveil 9 years ago.

- Who are your inspirations or influences?
Grunge and Rock are my musical influences. But I listen to many music styles like Bluegrass, Folk, Indie, and a bit of Metal.

- What advice would offer aspiring performers?
To believe in them, to always refine their art, not to be put down by negative people, to be interested in their fans and to be available for them and especially to love what you do!

- How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
I don't know. It is people who are listening to us who could answer this question.
All tastes are in nature and I am not here to compete against other bands or singers.
I do what I love, that's all.

- Any new gigs or albums in the future
We are in the writing process, Alain and me. We have 7 songs that are ready to be practiced with the entire band. So it's going very well! Creation is what I prefer.

Special thanks to them for this interview & I wish them lots of luck in their success so until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: The Ocean Beneath

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I had the pleasure of interviewing a band who call themselves The Ocean Beneath who had a lot to say on their musical beginnings.

How'd you get started in music?

I've been playing music in all different forms for years. From acoustic folk, rock and metal to electronic music and synthwave! I guess I got into actually playing music around 18 years ago, I bought a guitar from a kid at school and set about teaching myself to play it, I wanted to learn how to play it but also record it and get sounds I didn't hear elsewhere from it. From there I just always played any instruments I could get my hands on, recording them all for EP's and constantly writing music, changing with my tastes and hopefully always evolving.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

The huge influences on me would probably be David Bowie, Talk Talk & Pink Floyd, I listen to all music so it's really tough to answer this one. Right now I'm pretty deep in to LCD Soundsystem and Gunship but i'm quite happy to follow that up with some Doves, Lydmor and SiKth

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

From the days when I used to perform live with bands I would say the biggest thing for live performance is to take an energy to the stage and give people the truth, honesty works! For people wanting to make music I would say try not to overthink things, try as much as you can, use a guitar riff and replace it with drum samples, record any sounds you can and experiment.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

Within the kind of synthwave, electronic scene we probably fall I would say we set ourselves apart a lot with textures of sounds we go for, some of the stuff can be a bit computerised and never seen real instruments, we try to use mainly analogue synthesizers and I think this included with actual playing brings a human element to what we do. We also try to stay clear of the cliche neon soaked artwork that comes with the synthwave scene, we've seen it too much now, let's mix things up.

Any new gigs or albums in the future?

Today is the release of our latest single Fortunate Son, an 80's inspired re imagining of the 1969 classic by Creedence Clearwater Revival. You can get this over on our Bandcamp page right now or stream it in all the usual places. We're looking at some live options for next year as well but more on that as things develop.

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & lot of luck in their music. So until then I'll catch you on the Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: The Silver Beets

Hello again folks its the one & only DJ Dizzy coming at you with another interview, This time with a band who answer to the name of The  Silver Beets who had a lot to say on their musical origins.

How'd you get started in music?
I just fell into it around the age of 18 through a new group of friends who introduced me to alternative, indie, underground music. Up til I didn't even know that stuff really existed. Hearing guitar sounds like the Dead Kennedy's and Sonic Youth, the vocals and sounds by Jane's addiction was an eye opener and I was hooked. A lot of these friends had been playing music since their early teens so I was a little bit of a later starter and I never really got serious on playing any particular instrument. Just used the instrument as a way to write songs. Then as various band members didn't want to play anymore I'd find myself as the bass player, or on a guitar.

Who are your inspirations or influences?
Everyone and everything in music inspires and influences me. I've been involved in projects that would be classified as pure noise art through to learning how to sing opera (well try in my case). I do generally prefer the alternative and independent artists more than mainstream artists as I feel there's a rawness and reality to it that I mostly don't get from mainstream music. Perhaps it's that indie artists are generally writing their own stuff from their own experiences so they live it whereas a lot of commercial artists are singing stuff written for them. So, I guess I just don't find the emotion in it as much. However, there are definitely still mainstream songs that do convey that emotion and I like and appreciate them.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?
Never give up, keep trying new things, enjoy what you do - I think the current world situation shows that a lot of artists income is not secure and only a few artists/musicians ever make the kind of money that can set them up to not have to work. It's a career it's a job and most people have to work their whole life to buy the house and whatnot so don't expect that you are gonna be the next big thing and strike it rich. Chances are you'll be slogging away at this for a long time with very little to fall back on. I know a lot of musicians whose income just dried up because there were no gigs, so tours got canned, shows couldn't be played and even supplemental income like teaching other students dropped off completely so it's a tough industry and going in knowing that and accepting that is a good place to start because if you know that and you still continue you know you are doing it for the right reasons.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
We just do what we want to do and as artists we don't want to continue writing the same stuff. So, I think album to album song to song we will sound different and grow and that is all as artists you want. I don't have any expectations other than to be true to myself and what I believe in. If that shines through to an audience then my job is done.

Any new gigs or albums in the future
No gigs for us at this time but we are right at the end of the mixing stage of a new album which will be released in the not too distant future so watch this space.

Special thanks to them for this interview & I wish them luck in their music. So until then I'll catch you on the Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: The Organized Muse

Hey there folks DJ Dizzy here & I

How'd you get started in music?
As long as I can remember I always had melodies and songs in my head, but didn't play any instrument. I just sang in several cover bands at a very young age. At the age of 20 a girlfriend of mine learned to play the guitar with a book, so I borrowed the book and the guitar and started to learn. Three weeks later I got my first guitar and since then I have been writing my own songs.

Who are your inspirations or influences?
Oh, wow. There are so many, I'd need an extra interview just about that I think, lol. Well, the ones who had a major influence on my songwriting and musical career are without doubt, Tom Waits, J.J. Cale, Nick Cave and Herrman Van Veen, besides of the Smashing Pumpkins, Van Morrison, The Doors, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Talking Heads, Dire Straits, Rage Against The Machine, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, No One Is Innocent, Peter Gabriel, Fatboy Slim, Govt Mule and many more. But there are also songs which are inspired by other musicians I got to know recently, above all in the indie music scene on the internet.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?
Do whatever your heart desires. If you have the urge to make music, do it and get it out to the world. I think you should never regret what you are doing. If you love music, get it out - on the net or on stage, no matter how, show your talent and love for music to the world. There will be critics, but hey... not everyone has the same taste. On the other hand ... if you wanna grow as a musician, get together with as many other musicians as you can you'll always learn new stuff and enrich your own musical talent.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
It is not easy to not sound like the music you love. In my case, I know there are several songs which really sound very close to the artist I admire and which are definitely inspired by them. But I see it more as an homage to them then feeling like copying them. In any case it is always strange when people come up with comparisons, but on the other side it is also a kudo, well, depending on to whom you are compared, lol.

Any new gigs or albums in the future
Right now the band is taking a rest and I'm with solo projects coming along every now and then. Lately I'm also in projects with different local musicians, just having fun and seeing where that leads to. So, stay tuned, you'll never know when something new from T.O.M. pops up on the vast world wide web.

DJ Interviews: Annika Jayne

Hello there folks Its DJ Dizzy & I sat down with a singer who writes songs in different languages say hello to Annika Jayne!

How'd you get started in music?

For as long as I can remember, there has always been music inside my head. Even as a little girl I was already humming little melodies, just for myself. This was probably because I grew up in a musical family. My mother was always listening to classical music - I must have heard it even before I was born. Growing up, I had always admired the big composers for creating such beautiful music. I knew then that this is what I wanted to do. As a child, I had piano and violin lessons. But as soon as I discovered singer-songwriters and folk music, I wanted to learn guitar and write songs. At 15 my parents gave me my first guitar for Christmas and at 16 I wrote my very first song.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

There are so many! As a child, it was composers, mainly Johann Sebastian Bach and  Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and later Antonin Dvorak. As a teenager, I discovered Francis Cabrel among many other French singer-songwriters,  as well as American songwriters such as Suzanne Vega, James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Joni Mitchell.  Living in Germany, I naturally listened to German singer-songwriters as well.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

Stay true to yourself and authentic and just keep going. Don't look so much for success. Staying passionate about your music is the most important thing - everything else will come automatically. However - it takes a lot of work and it won't come overnight. But if you do one thing each day, even just a small thing, you continue to grow. The most important thing, however, is to never, ever, lose the passion!

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

Well, for one thing, I write in three languages, English, French, and German. Looking at my influences, this is hardly surprising. I started writing in English, took up writing in French when I was 19, and only wrote my first song in German at the age of 30. I couldn't imagine it any other way. As for instrumentation, I like it simple. I prefer sparse instrumentation over a full orchestra or band. I also like using real instruments in my recordings such as a cello, violin, woodwind instruments, and sparse use of percussion, like djembe or bongo  - which is why I describe my sound as chamber folk.

Any new gigs or albums in the future

My next single The Eagle Flies Alone will appear on August 14. This one, as well as the last 4 singles, will also be released as an EP entitled Time To Spread Your Wings in autumn.

Special thanks to her for doing this interview & I wish her much luck & love in her music. So until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: Kaiser & The Machines of Creation

Hey there guys its The DJ here & I had the pleasure of interviewing a band who answer to Kaiser & The Machines Of Creation who had so much to say on their musical beginnings

How'd you get started in music?

When I was about 11 years old, some friends of our family asked me if I would like to join their band. I said I couldn’t play and didn't have a guitar.

They said, no problem, they bought me a guitar and showed me how to play!

Amazing people... three months later we played our first gig in the Kapunda Hotel, North of Adelaide. We were called 'Atlantis'.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

I am mostly inspired by great original musicianship whether it be vocals or guitar or a band.

Bowie, Rainbow, Zeppelin, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Yes, Cacophony, Al Dimeola, Ghost and so much more.

Then out of the blue I can be just as inspired by an Elton John song for instance. Not that I directly have been in that example, but anything may catch my ear and be the seed of a new idea.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

Always be true to yourself as a musician taking care of your passion.

Be sure to balance the things in your life so you can practice your art.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

I don't. However, I believe that a core of professionalism is paramount to the success of any act.

Any new gigs or albums in the future

Unfortunately, this COVID thing has taken over the world, so we are restricted to rehearsal only. It probably won't be until mid 2021 that we can look at touring. In the meantime, KAISER and the Machines of Creation have been drip feeding songs via the internet, online and traditional radio stations, with the aim to compile these songs in the form of an album, titled ‘Flowers and Lies’ for release later in the year, or at least when the world ‘rights’ itself again. During this downtime we are also looking to release some more videos for the tracks from the eventual album. Thank you to people like yourself, Dizzy, for picking up on new bands, the support and the chance to introduce us to more listeners! It is very much appreciated!

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them lot s of luck in their music. So until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: Bruce Smith

Hi there everyone its DJ Dizzy here & I had the pleasure of interviewing a singer & leader of his own band his name is Bruce Smith & he had so much to say on his musical career.

1.  My Mother is a very good musician and I got started playing the piano, for a short time, when I was very young and then the trombone in elementary school and junior high.  I messed around with the guitar a very little bit in high school and college, but didn't get real serious about it until I graduated.   Two of my very best friends and I would get together and play and we eventually formed a band together and I haven't turned back since.

2.  Many, many influences!! Of course The Beatles, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Rolling Stones, John Fogerty, Motown etc.  But my two major influences are Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.  I also love John Hiatt, Elvis Costello, Los Lobos and Graham Parker, to name just a few.

3.  Robert Duval played a country singer in Tender Mercies named Mac Sledge.  An aspiring band asked Mac for advice and he said, "Sing it the way you feel it."  If you're able to play it and sing it the way you feel it, that is it's own reward.  Akin to that, I would add, the feel and the groove is more important to me, than playing it note or pitch perfect.  If you're having a good time and diggin' what you're doing, the more likely other folks will feel the same way.  You just gotta Rock On!

4.  I like to think that we are a very good band that makes good records with good songs, but our preference is to play live.  It is a very organic and homespun feel we have been able to cultivate for a long while.  Spencer Jarmon (guitar), Randy Caballero (keyboards and Grammy winning producer) and I have been playing together for 16 years.  We have added Spencer's son, Zeke (bass) and my nephew, Conner Church (drums) in the last four years.  We love playing together and we love playing in front of people, thriving on the synergy between each other and the audience.   To have a complete stranger come up to you and thank you for your music is something you csn't put a price tag on.  I also think we do well in a variety of genres and I don't think we can (nor want) to be easily pigeonholed.

5.  I have 3 new singles out.  Pots and Pans (Cacophony Symphony) and Angels, both odes to our amazing health care and hospital workers doing such a herculean job of taking care of all of us.   I Can't Breathe is an historic retrospective of events that have led up to the ever present and current crisis we are faced with now.
Hoping '59 Stratocaster, a song I wrote for the movie Clear Lake, will make the cut.
We also hope to begin recording a new album soon with a projected early 2021 release date.
Due to our current health situation, I have been playing a Facebook Livestream every Wednesday from my back porch.  We are very anxious and eager  to return to our rigorous playing schedule as soon as we can!

DJ Interviews: Cathal J

Hy there guys Its DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with an artist whose name is Cathal J as they talked about their sucess & music

1. How did I get started in Music?

I bought a guitar in October 2014 . I was going through a rough time in my marriage at the time. It was a form of therapy learning to play the guitar. Next thing you know I am doing FB videos and then open mic nights and then busking. Then I wrote my first single ' One More Chance' and released it in July 2018

2. Influences/ inspirations in music _ Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Queen, Brian Adam's and Irish Singer/songwriter Dermot Kennedy

3. Advice for aspiring artists. ?

You really do in the words of ' Dire Straits' have to want it.  If you want it bad enough you will put the work in. It's a journey, so pace yourself and be true to yourself.

4. How do you set yourself apart from the other artists ?

For me, I am currently on route to becoming a lawyer.  Part of my vision is to represent singer/songwriters and ensure they reach their fullest potential by making sure they  understand the legal aspects of the music industry. This SETS ME APART.

5.  Any new gigs/ albums in the future?

The Covid 19 pandemic has put a halt to the live side of things. I hope to be playing gigs in the UK by October 2021

My fifth single ' L.A' girl will be released  in December 2020

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them nothing but luck in their music. So until then I'll catch you on the Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: The Hikkomori Pact

Hey there folks Its DJ Dizzy here & I had the esteemed pleasure of interviewing Jeremiah Boothe of The Hikkomori Pact band as he had a lot to say on the musical scene

How'd you get started in music?

I grew up in a small town with people that had a very narrow view of the world and everyone shared the same opinions and beliefs, anyone that questioned those ideologies was ridiculed until they agreed.  So it's fair to say that I never fit in very well.  For me Music was a different perspective, different world views, it's what showed me that there was a different/better way, at first as just a listener. Music helped me steel my will to resist the indoctrination I constantly faced.  Writing journals, poems, and lyrics, as terrible as they were at first, became a way for me to process through the conflict and figure out what kind of person I wanted to be.  At age 12 I got my first guitar and that journey continued.  Music has always been a very important part of my life, it has shaped me and helped me process through things that I might have otherwise just suppressed for the sake of my own sanity.  Now here I am at 40 years old and music is very much the same,  I've grown immensely as a person, my ability to articulate my thoughts and to even analyze conflicting views and the psychology behind those views has come a long way, I'm also the best version of myself now as a musician as a result of decades of struggling through the many challenges I face.  Still, I have a long way to go and as long as I draw breath I will continue to push forward, breaking old biases that I forgot to reevaluate, putting my own ego on blast, and improving my craft.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

Far too many to count.  At 40 years old I've had several different era's of music, each era often filled with many dozens if not hundreds of bands/artists each bringing a different influence.

Some of the most prominent of those influences are Mike Patton, Maynard James Keenan, Jon Crosby, Chris Cornell, Josh Homme, Sting, Kurt Cobain, Steve Vai, etc...  These days I'm spending more time connecting with and finding influence from other indie artists, people that have the same goals as me who are at some point in their journey to create and grow as artists.  Some are absolutely amazing, and some are not quite as far along as others but I find inspiration in someone putting their best effort forward, falling short, and trying again.  I encourage that.  The person behind the music and the effort they're putting forth is far more important than the end result of the song.  I would much rather listen to a bad song that someone dumped every ounce of their soul into than a perfect song that 50 top level producers all put 1% into and barely gave it a second thought.  The realness of that struggle shines through and that's what speaks to me these days.  I've heard ukulele songs that were played out of time with lot's of missed notes and out of tune vocals that brought me to tears and listened to far too many hit songs that were perfect in every way that made me feel absolutely nothing.

What advice would you offer aspiring performers?

Align yourself with people that share similar goals.  One of the worst things you can do to yourself is spend years putting all your energy into a band/music project with people that have opposing goals or at least just don’t have any musical goals.  Whatever those goals are, if it’s just playing live and drinking beer just for the joy of it or to turn it into a living.  Also be honest about your goals up front and make sure everyone you work with is being honest about theirs.  Avoid people with ego’s that outweigh their skills and ability.  It’s fine working with someone that’s not up to par if they’re willing to put in the work to improve but don’t waste time on someone that’s mediocre and not willing to grow as a musician because they feel like they already know it all.  Practice a lot, to the point where you can stop thinking about what you’re doing and carry on a conversation without making a mistake, this will go a long way toward combatting stage fright the first time you step in front of an audience.  Don’t worry about going out with a full band/full set right away.  Take it one song at a time until you feel comfortable, enjoy the praise you get from performing one song well and use that energy to add more songs to your repertoire.  Expect to have performances/crowd reactions that will haunt you for the rest of your life but fight the urge to quit.  In some of my earlier shows my band was so bad that we performed a single show and couldn’t look each other in the eyes for months after because we were so embarrassed, this was compounded by the unrealistic ego’s and perception we had of our abilities in practice, in our own little bubble.  I quit music completely for a few years because of a performance like this, I wish I hadn't.  Don’t let the reactions of others crush your belief in your own music, if you can listen back to recordings of whatever you’re doing and feel the emotion you put into it then you’re on the right track, don’t let narrow minded people that only listen to 2 bands tell you that your music sucks, and if they do just smile and carry on with what you were going to do anyway, they aren't paying your bills, you owe them nothing of yourself, especially not control over your feelings or the direction you’re going.  With that said, listen to the people that genuinely care about you, sometimes people close to you will tell you the hard truth that you don’t want to hear, listen to those people.  It can be hard to figure out who they are sometimes but at some point in life you’ll develop the ability to determine who’s just being negative for their own sake and who’s giving you helpful advice.

How do you set yourself apart from other bands or singers?

I do it by not trying to do it.  When I write, I don't write from any particular influence from another band or a specific sound.  I clear my mind and focus entirely on whatever enigma is currently swirling around in my brain.  I often write about things that have been rubbing me the wrong way, things that have been stuck in my head.  I think about the people involved, the psychology behind certain actions and thoughts.  I think about what I would say if I was talking to someone that would listen instead of arguing with a wall, if I could give them my best answer, or make my best argument, I feel out the different emotions that such conversations bring and then I start strumming chords, playing notes on my guitar or a keyboard, banging out the rhythm to my frustrations, and from there a song begins to form.  I don't write for anything other than my own sanity.  I want others to enjoy my music and connect with me, some people have, more people eventually will, but I'll never be able to truly speak to someone’s soul/psyche if I water down my music to make it more palatable for the masses.  I hope that while being as musically and lyrically honest as possible that other people can relate and maybe something I say will help them deal with their own troubles, maybe give them a new perspective on something they've been stuck on for a while.  I don't really do happy.  Happy is for day to day life and interactions with people I care about, my music is for the problems that many of us face that are often daunting if not impossible to unpack.  I hope that for someone out there, I'm that friendly hand on the shoulder in the dark, I'm there too but we don't have to face it alone.  Sometimes just having that can be enough to help someone find a strength they didn't know they had.  The darkness is much less scary when you're not alone.  I’m not sure any of this sets me apart really, but this is how I approach it and I’ve been often told I don’t sound like anyone else, so probably?

Any new gigs or albums in the future

I have no plans of playing gigs anytime soon, I'm not ruling it out as a possibility, and every so often I do an open mic night at a coffee house.  I've played hundreds of full band live shows in this area and surrounding areas, it's just a whole lot of effort and time to spend more money than I make to play to maybe 60-100 people, which is the crowd built up after a good 8 years of non-stop gigging.  I appreciate the fans I've made locally but I enjoy my time in isolation wrestling with my own neurosis and the results that come from it.  This also goes back to finding musicians with the same goals.  If I found a group of people that were aligned with what I wanted to accomplish, locally, then I'd give it a shot but people can be flakey and the bands that are serious tend to only play covers or original music I'm not into at all.  The twitter indie community has given me a way to expand and move forward with none of the draw backs.  There's many thousands of people throughout the world sprinting down the same path to nowhere that I'm on and I've found a few that I really hit it off with and collaborated with.  People that have pushed me to new levels and I'm now a part of some songs that leave my mouth agape in awe, like I can't believe I got to be a part of the creation of something so powerful.

There are definitely albums in the future, right now I'm focusing primarily on singles and collaborations but I do have several full lengths that have been slowly coming together over the past 20 years and keep changing and evolving along with me. I plan to drop my next single soon, at least as soon as I stop nitpicking over the last few lines of lyrics and bounce it one last time.

Special thanks to him for doing this interview & I wish him & his band lots of luck & success. So until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay Awesome & rock n roll!

DJ Interviews: Forgotten One

Hey there one & all DJ Dizzy here & I had the pleasure of speaking with Jordan Faust A.K.A. The Forgotten One as they talked about their musical beginngings.

How'd you get started in music?
I’ve loved music my whole life, I used to preform Backstreet Boys and other pop songs with my friend in front of our 6th grade class almost everyday.  My dream was to be a pro basketball player so I chased that dream for almost 10 years, once it was done I switched my focus to Music.  I got a late start but I decided to go after it anyways, started making songs and then made an album.  My album helped me get the attention of Bentley Records who signed me to a Distribution & Marketing Deal in 2017.
Since then I’ve been making music on and off, but dived back in this past year releasing my EP called, “Sideline Stories” showcasing my new sound.   Next, I have my song, “Him” dropping on 7/8/2020 and another track called, “Elephant” following that late in July or early August which will feature on an artist collaboration CD called, “Internet Friends 2”.  We’ll see what’s next after that…
Who are your inspirations or influences?
I don’t have a lot of inspiration/influences to be honest, my plan in music is to stand out by being different and original, which I think I am.  A few of my favorite artists/influences though would be: Drake, J. Cole, Logic, Mike Stud, Blackbear and I’m a fan of all the 90’s-2000’s hip-hop music & artists like: Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye, T.I, Ludacris etc.  I really listen to a lot more of the older stuff than new but some of my favorite music ever is 90-2000’s alternative rock and my first true love of music is The Beatles.
What advice would offer aspiring performers?
I would say I’m in no position to giving performers advice since I still haven’t taken my lame ass onto the stage yet lol.  That will change though but what I would tell people starting out is learn the Music industry, I was fortune enough to learn a lot signing with Bentley Records and them teaching me, so I learned a fair amount.  Also, work on your craft and also build your fanbase.  Truth be told, you really can’t do much with Music if you don’t have a following.
How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
I think my sound does that for it’s self, I really don’t sound like anyone else.  I did a Spotify campaign where I was supposed to ask people who I sound like in order to reach a target audience and I asked probably 50+ people and most people struggled coming up with anyone.
Also, I try to create motivational/inspirational music that’s mainly positive and intended to help people out, which I think sets myself apart because you don’t hear a lot of music like that these days, especially in Hip-Hop.
