Hey there all DJ Dizzy here & this is my interview with the band The Crags
How’d you get started in music?
“Like many bands, we all met in highschool and decided to put a band together as we were in between 16-17 years old. Our first band was on a Doors cover band, though which we got to practice our instruments a lot and started to acquire stage experience by performing many live gigs in small venues in front of our school mates, to which The Doors’s music was quite popular back then. It came to about two ye until we started to write perform our own songs and also start to perform in venues in which we had been playing with our cover band, which helped quite a bit in that matter. This was back in 1999 and is still going on to this day.”
Who are your inspirations of influences?
“Mainly rock band from 60’s, 70’s, 90’ and so on. If we would have to name a couple of them, we could quote The Kinks, The Doors, Supergrass, Queens of the Stone Age or Procol Harum.”
What advice would you offer aspiring performers?
“Keep practicing your art on regular bases as long as it remains your passion and fun and never give up whatever the goal you wish to reach in the world of music.”
“Talking about live gigs, always perform as if it was going to be your last ever show: not only you, but also the audience will enjoy it better.”
How do you get yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
“Probably by not following any particular fashion or type of music which gravitated around us. After four albums, we still have the feeling that, even though the style our music has known some variations though the years, the soul and the idea of ours songs remain unchanged since the very beginning.”
Any new gigs or albums in the future?
“A future album is on the road, due to be recorded this autumn and probably released next summer (2023).”
