DJ Interviews: The PondHawks

Hello guys DJ Dizzy here once again with an interview by a hard rock band who call themselves The Pond Hawks as they had a lot to say about their careers. So I proudly present to you the Pond Hawks!

1. How did you get started in music?
I suppose we gravitated toward music as our "opiate" our "escape" from the everyday struggles of life. Listening to music mended our souls... made us feel good. We looked up to the songwriters, the singers, and musicians. The hope of someday playing and possibly even writing our own songs was the ultimate dream goal for us.
2. Who are your inspirations or influences?
The Beatles, Wings, The Monkees,  Michael Nesmith, The Everly Brothers, Jim Croce...
3. What advice would you offer aspiring performers?
Be true to yourself and your music. Try to find your own musical niche instead of following the current music trend. There is so much competition in music. You need to create a signature sound that gives you your own musical identity.
But MOST importantly: "NEVER mix beer and wine!!!" ;)
4. How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
We don't intentionally try to set ourselves apart from other bands. Our main goal from day one is to always stay true to ourselves. When you do this, your "signature sound" will blossom.
5. Any new gigs or albums in the future?
We’ve had a fun, live-gig summer so far. One of the highlights was a 2-hour concert for 8,000+ people. It was our 5th year playing this annual event.
Also, we just released a new single called “Afraid Of Love.” The song has been trending on Facebook and was picked up by several FM and Internet radio stations. Hope you dig it...
