Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I had the esteemed pleasure of listening to the music of dark alt rock band Awake & Dreaming who were gracious enough to have me consider them for a review of their music so with that said let's get into it.
The Band,
Awake & Dreaming is a dark alternative rock band who are based in Waterloo Ontario Canada, they're a four piece band with a very deep unique sound & they prove it by way of their music & their lead vocalist who has a very amazing voice They describe their sound os Dynamite dark alt rock which has some undertones of dark but its more dynamic alt rock in a good way.
The Music,
i've heard three of their songs, 'Something To Believe In,' 'I U ME,' & 'Antidote' & each one of them have their own distinct & unique sound to them but out of all of them Antidote has a good feel to it it was like a song of haling or rather looking for healing same way with the song 'Something To Believe In, to me it out me in mind of a fight song or an anthem saying that we all need something to believe in especially in a world that has gone mad & Awake & Dreaming have proved just that.
The front woman who really delivers & she has a distinctive sound in her voice which puts me in mind of a mix of Michelle Branch & Amy Lee & delivers a lot of raw energy & emotion when she sings it's like you can feel her soul in each song which is a really good thing when connecting with the listener which is almost a rare find when it comes to most bands or singers half the time but in the greater sense she has an amazing gift.
In Conclusion,
Awake & Dreaming does have a real dynamic sound in their music which you will hear & while some of the lyrics have some dark undertones, they're an awesome band who remind us that while there are challenges, we face in life we all need time to heal from that so I give them a decent 10 & here;s hoping that they come back with more alphnumeric tunes later on.
