DJ Interviews: Hollowed Sky Band

Hey there guys its your old friend The DJ & here's my interview with the band Hollowed Sky. Enjoy!

How'd you get started in music?
I think all of us started seriously tinkering with music around the ages that we would've been in Middle School, or early in High School. As far as this band goes, we started in November of 2016 with the intention of getting together and jamming, just for fun. It didn't take long for us to realize we were good at writing songs together, and the rest is history.

Who are your inspirations or influences?
Here are a few influences: Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pink Floyd, Incubus, Tool, The Juliana Theory, Pantera, Radiohead, Faith No More, Smashing Pumpkins, The Antlers, Baroness, Nirvana, Ministry, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?
We are believers that all artists/bands should be true to themselves and not bend to the whimsies of the music industry, or what other people tell them to do. Be yourselves, create the music that you want to create, and let the pieces fall.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
We are just out here, doing our thing! We'd describe our music as dramatic, rhythmically interesting, heavy without being metal, and with lyrics that deal with the darker side of life & reality.

Any new gigs or albums in the future?
No new gigs just yet, but that will happen. We are going to continue releasing lyric videos from our latest release "Unstrung (Remixed & Remastered)" for the next few months. After that, we have at least one surprise coming, and then we expect to release new music sometime in 2022!

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them luck in their music. So until then I'll catch you on The Flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!
