The Magician feat Years and Years - Sunlight [AUDIO ]

DJ Interviews Under A Banner

Hey there everyone , DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with the lead singer & guitarist Adam Broadhurst of Under A Banner who had a lot to say about his band's success.

How'd you get started in music?

Speaking personally, I’ve almost always played the guitar. I was taught to play by my dad when very young. In my late teens I played a lot of open mic sessions and jammed with some great players. Forming a band was the next logical step.

Who are your biggest influences & inspirations?

As a band we are influenced musically by an eclectic bunch of artists. I love bands like The Cure, New Model Army and lots of rock, folk and metal. The other guys love classic rock, metal and prog. Other influences include thousands of books and the beauty of nature.

Any advice to any aspiring musicians or singers?

I don’t think I’m truly qualified to advise aspiring musicians other than to say ‘love what you do and avoid pay-to-play rackets if you can help it.

We tend to focus on lyrics as well as melody. I’m not saying that other bands do this, but we don’t write in order to get festival places; we write what we think sounds exciting.

Any gigs or new albums in the future?

We already have 4 studio albums and 3 EPs in circulation so are in the process of writing new material. All recordings can be found on our Bandcamp page or our website www.underabanner.co.uk where you’ll also see our gigs and festival dates.

Thank you

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them nothing but luck in their careers. So until then I'll catch you on the flispide! Stay awesome & Rock n roll!

DJ interviews: The Underground Vault

Hey there guys DJ Dizzy here this time I say down with a group called The Underground Vault who had a lot to say regarding their musical upbringing. So I proudly present to you The Underground Vault!

How'd you get started in music?

We grew up in West London UK during the 90s Oasis "Britpop" explosion which was extremley inspiring as a teenager, having songwriters and musicians such as Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft to look up to made us want to pick up instruments and teach ourselves to play. We all know eachother from school and previous bands.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

Our main influence and inspiration is life itself, our experiences whether its sad or happy inspire us to write and perform. The Artists we like range from bands like Oasis, The Verve, Rival sons to Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, Peter Green etc

What advice would you offer aspiring performers?

There is no substitute for hard work, study the artists you admire and learn from them, be open minded, professional and always friendly and you will go far. Always follow your heart.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

We follow our hearts and never compromise on that, we have never sold out and never will. We are a band that draws its music from the great bands of the 60s,70s and 90s but bring it to life with our interpretation and modern twist.

Any new gigs or albums in the future?

We have a pending confirmation for a mini tour of Scotland in April 2019 and various amazing gigs through spring and summer 2019. We keep our facebook page upto date so anybody wanting to come and see us can get info from there

Special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish them luck on their career so until then I'll catch you on the flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!

Who are your inspirations or influences?
Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Meek Mill, Biggie, Peep, the list really goes on

What advice would offer aspiring performers?
Just keep working, there’s people and fans out there for every type of music or art. Definitely have energy, some of the performers out now aren’t really great but the energy at their shows is incredible.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
Not everyone can be Cheezy.

DJ Interviews: Hermit's Maze

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with a band called Hermit's Maze as they had so much to say about their musical career.

How'd you get started in music?
We started like most guys, listening to legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. I (particularly) started playing after a friend of my father gave me a guitar made by an Argentinian luthier. I absolute felt in love from the moment I played the first note!

Who are your inspirations or influences?
We listen to almost all kinds of music, from the bands mentioned above to the most extreme metal, obviously the instrumental bands are the ones that most call our attention, bands such as: Toska, Scale the Summit and Mestis. However, we don’t leave aside the Disco music, Jazz or even the Rolling Stones. :-)

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

If you really like what you do, don’t stop fighting. Even if that means going through a lot of suffering or frustration along the way... there will be days when you just want to give up everything, but once you reach the goal, you know it was worth it. That feeling is unique, when you improve yourself, it’s simply the best.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

Hermit's Maze is an instrumental metal band that mixes several genres and rhythms at once. The band tries to wake up opposite feelings as the songs goes by. After the release of our Debut EP we began to receive written stories from different fans inspired by what our music woke up in them. We published those stories on our Facebook page, you can take a look, they are really great. This inspired a close friend of the band to start working on a 300 pages Sci-fi novel, which is almost finished and ready to be published.

Any new gigs or albums in the future?
We are working hard on our forthcoming album. We expect to have it ready as soon as possible during this year, so stay tuned!!! BTW you can listen in the meantime our single "Duality" (a completely brand new track that will be featured in the album), it is available on almost all platforms as Spotify, Bandcamp, etc

DJ Reviews All Taken Smells Like Mistakes

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I've recently checked out the new song "Smells Like Mistakes." by Spiral Crush & its got a very influenced alternative feel to it & the lyrics itself really have a lot to say. As for the singer he really captures the nature of the song & makes you think about any mistakes you might've made but its enough to make you relate to what this song is all about.

Here's hoping that you enjoy the song.
