DJ's Spotlight: An interview with House of Amber

Hello everyone! Its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with a group that I highly recommend to all of you out there. Ladies & gentlemen I give you House of Amber!

1 - We started as friends and brothers, playing guitars and writing songs in our bedrooms. From there we have just kind of continued. Our paths have deviated and changed over the years but we continue to write and play as often as we can.

2 - We all like a wide range of music and are inspired by different things. R.E.M, Midlake, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Glenn Campbell, The Beach Boys, Neil Young and so on.

3 - It's hard to say really. As a band and individuals we are impacted in different ways. What we can say is that music is a massive part of all our lives and we continue to enjoy writing and playing.

4 - We are always working on new music. We try and release new tracks as often as possible. We don't have anything planned to play live at the moment but who knows what the future will bring.

I wish House if Amber nothing but luck in their success in everything they do. So with that said be righteous & I'll catch on the flipside!

Sound Off: Us the Duo

Hello there everyone this time around I'm doing an opened message to not just AGT but to anyone who might be reading this. It regards the husband & wife team called Us the Duo. They're a folk rock couple who already have a couple of hits under their belt.  I'm not knocking their music which is really good from what I've heard so far but the thing is that they're already famous with upcoming tours.

Thus  to me tends to put the other contestants at a disadvantage because of their fame & you go on America's Got Talent to get discovered but there should be some limits because if you have fame of some kind or have done the show two or three times then that's you're limit. So no disrespect to Us the Duo but while they made it to the semi finals here's the main truth: They're already signed to a label & also have some hit songs but are using the show to promote their music & their careers.

You can check out all you need to know by the following links

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Us_the_Duo

https://www.axs.com/artists/252275/us-the-duo-tickets

But other than that no disrespect to Us the Duo its not really fair for the other contestants when you're already famous give others a chance to show their talents the last thing you want to do is put anyone at a disadvantage by way of your fame.

Well that's all for now so until then be righteous & I'll catch you on the flipside!

DJ's Spotlight: An interview with Sirens Harbor

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I had the pleasure of sitting down with indie rock band Sirens Harbor as they had a lot to say about their beginnings & success thus far.

How'd you get started in music?

Wolfgang: I started singing along with my four (older) sisters when I was a little boy and been listening to music since the early Sixties. The Beatles, The Hollies, The Byrds and many others where my favorites.
When I was 11 I started playing the violin and a few years later the drums too. 1982 I joined a pop-rock group called „Crystal Heaven“ which became a regional success for several years with a few chart notations.

After a hiatus of 25 years I started playing again in 2012. With my six piece band „Sirens Harbor“ (3 girls, 3 boys) it's great to work in our own recording studio „El Corredor“ in Vienna.

Who are you're biggest influences & inspirations?

Wolfgang: There are a lot of bands and musicians from the Seventies and Eighties, like The Eagles, Journey, Little River Band, REO Speedwagon and great singers like John Farnham or the guys of Crowded House.

Today I'm listening to music from Alter Bridge, Disturbed, Elephant Revival, Rob Thomas and Arcade Fire; to mention a few.

Inspirations for the songs I write have their origins in (idiot) politics, in social and environmental issues but also in stories of everyday life. Besides great melody lines the lyrics are playing an essential role.

How would you say music has impacted your life?

Wolfgang: Music was always the anchor. Suffering from depression for more then 50 years it's been the songs and the stories within that maintained my inner balance and kept me going. If nothing else is there – music always is!

Any new gigs or albums?

Wolfgang: After the release of our first CD „Pardon Me For Jumping In“ in May 2017 we started recording our second CD – working title „The Art Of Resistance“ – a few weeks ago. Release date will be 2018, October 22nd.

We'll be playing gigs in September, October, November and December in Austria and we are planning to play a few venues in other European countries too.

Funny fact: Most of our fans are from English speaking countries like the US, Great Britain, Canada and Australia. Would be great to play there some day soon.

Sirens Harbor (Marlene Arnold, Julia, Franye, Lea Kieber, Michael „Micha“ Funk, Oliver Zopf and Wolfgang R. Zissler) are playing a mix of Pop, Folk, Rock and Worldmusic. Our instruments are electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, violins, cello, percussions and our six voices.

So I  suggest that you check them out when you get the chance & until then thats going to do it for me so be righteous & I'll catch you on the flipside!

DJ Interviews: Colorblind Dragons

Hello one & all Its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & I say down with a diversely musical band called the Color Blind Dragons

First of all this band is a very mixed group; but all three of us were brought up around music. We all started playing music from an early age but all have quite different musical backgrounds - rock guitar, classical and a hardwired desire to sing.
Since there are three of us, we really have to give three answers here. Our guitarist says that Pete Townshend changed his life, the vocalist says Roy Orbison inspired him and the keyboard player says that Bach is his biggest influence.
Music is the reason we get up in the morning.
We recently released our first single (Blue Eternity/Sargasso) digitally, and will be releasing another two singles very soon - the next single (Wham Bam Baby) is an electronic song and it's a deperature from our usual musical style. The full album (Redd) is in the final production stage and should be released in the next couple months. It's an 18 track concept album, but we will let it speak for itself upon release.

Colorblind Dragons are a band that I hope you check out & I wish them luck in their success & special thanks to them for doing this interview  so until then be righteous & I'll catch you on the flipside!

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here I've had the pleasure of sitting down with another indie band by the name of Doom Train as one of the members took time to sit down & do a interview with me so here's hoping you all enjoy it.

How'd you get started in music?

We met up in a bar in the summer of 2007, in the mountain region of Valencia, Spain. Over the months we bumped into each other and always ended up chatting about music. In May 2008 we took it further and produced a song, and - 90 songs later!

Who would you sight as your inspirations or influences?

We have slightly different tastes; Roger is into White snake, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc. I like led Zeppelin, Doors, Hendrix, Santana, however, we are both heavily into Pink Floyd as is apparent in some of our music, AND ALSO LISTENING TO SOME GREAT ARTISTS HERE ON SOUNDCLICK ! However, we are both heavily into Pink Floyd as is apparent in some of our music

Any gigs in the future?

No gigs planned, the music is just a hobby as we both have full time jobs.

Any advice to aspiring performers?

Aspiring performers, just keep at it guys !!

So that's the interview which I appreciate but best of luck to you Doom Train & vest of luck. So until then be radically righteous & I'll catch you on the flipside!

DJ's Spotlight: An interview with Pleo

Hey there! DJ Dizzy here & I recently sat down with a band called Pleo who is a rock musician who shared his success & his beginnings.

started playing music at the age of 18. From the very beginning, I just shouted into the microphone, wrote poetry, played a little electric guitar. Apparently I was destined to become a musician, because my parents were engaged in music and my grandfathers and grandmothers too. I'm self-taught, nobody coached me, I never took lessons from anyone in music and singing .. I play by ear.

There are many bands and performers that have influenced my tastes and priorities in music. But the main ones are: Nirvana, Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park, Psyche, Slipknot, Metallica, Sepultura, Jimi Hendrix and others.

I would advise the beginning performer to always follow the path of the heart and to the very end. And never give up. Because the path of a musician is a difficult path. It is a constant struggle with oneself.

Yes, I will soon have new songs, I continue to develop and improve. But with the concerts of the problem, because I do not have a band .. At the moment, I'm the only one writing music. Pleo is a an aspiring musician that I recommend that you all check out. & special thanks to him for doing this interview. So until then be righteous & I'll catch you on the flipside!
