DJ Interviews: Mind Cinema
Hello once again everyone its Dizzy here coming at you this time around with a band hailing from Mexico so let's hear it for Mind Cinema!
How'd you get started in music?
1) We've all been around music since we were kids, school bands, high school cover bands, as we grew older we shared that common feeling of wanting to create, playing nirvana riffs or Radiohead covers didn't cut it anymore, we needed our own thing.
2) We each have different musical influences, we grew up in the 90s, so Radiohead, air, grunge, shoegaze are obvious ones, but we also started listening a lot to 80s music, synth stuff, we love synths, it’s a great tool for sound experimentation.
What's your advice to any up & coming performers?
3) Just do it for the love of it, don’t expect nothing in return, don’t expect recognition. If you really love music put time into it, get better everyday, learn a new instrument, learn from musicians around you, absorb and experiment.
How do you set yourselves apart from other bands?
4) We are not really trying to invent anything, just create music that makes sense to us as an artistic expression. Art is important to us, we take our songs seriously, we're not a "just have fun and dance" band, we look for meaning in sound and lyrics.
Any new albums or gigs in the future?
5) We're just starting to get booked outside Mexico and in some major festivals in Mexico, so we expect to get our music heard by a wider audience and see where it goes from there. As for albums coming we are going to be releasing one song a month this year and at the end of the year release it as a full album.
I wish them nothing but luck in their career & their success & special thanks to them for this interview. So until then I'll catch you on the flipside so stay awesome & rock n roll!

Saving the music part 3:Studies of Music
Part 3 : The studies of music
According
to articles taken from a blog through the following links studies have shown
that music education can help children succeed by improving their GPA. This was
proven by students from Nashville Public Schools in Nashville TN. This is also
the case with disciplinary standards. Studies have also been shown to help
develop & improve self confidence in children. A 16 year old saxophonist has shown to have learned to
develop talent & self confidence just through music lessons

Save The Music part 2: The Solution at hand
Here's part 2 of Saving The music
Music
programs are constantly being cut from multiple schools both high school &
middle schools alike. This has been happening since the late 90s & in some
cases still goes on due to lack of funding by the states or lack of interest.
But it was
back in the year 1999 that VH1 (That’s Video Hits One for those who don’t know)
started a program to donate money to keep music programs in schools called Save
The Music.
Saving The Music Introduction
Hello everyone DJ Dizzy here & I want to share with you a program that's a big inspiration called Save the Music which helps different schools with funding to help music programs in many schools & for those who aren't familiar with it here's what they're all about
For a
long time music
programs have been cut from public
schools due to lack of funds or interest. People would think that there’s
nothing really special about them but the truth is that it
can do so much more such as to bring out talent,
creativity, inner strength, confidence, & so much more as we’re about to
discover

DJ Interviews: Come Unstuck
Hello everyone DJ Dizzy here & I sat with a band by the name of Come Unstuck who had so much to share regarding their humble beginnings. So pull up a chair & enjoy!
How'd you get started in music
It all started in 2014. Hugo and Alex were part of a Green Day tribute band where they had their first experiences in a band and their first gigs. After evolving in local scenes, they decided to set up a new band: Come Unstuck.
As a follow-up to their performance featuring other great pop-punk artists, the new goal of this project was to write songs in a more contemporary alternative rock music style. After a long period of composition and having recruited new members, we went to Paris to record at Bertrand and Eric Poncet's studio (from the band Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!) in order to record our first EP.
To promote this EP we made a video clip "The Ground Rules"

Who are your inspirations or influences?
For this EP we were pretty much influenced by bands from the alternative rock and modern pop-punk scene (like: State Champs, The Story So Far, Neck Deep, A Day To Remember ...).
What advice would offer aspiring performers?
Think carefully before you start, stay close to the ones who will help you and focus on quality over quantity.
How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
We are French. The only french band in the same kind of genre who is internationally known is Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! This is not a very popular music genre in our country, we are pretty much the only ones who are doing it.
Any new gigs or albums in the future?
Right now, we are currently looking for a label so that we can carry on some various projects such as a new album or a tour.

DJ interviews: HimAir
Hey there everyone its DJ Dizzy here I sat down with band Him Air who had this to say about their music career
Any new gigs or albums in the future?
CCA: We are still a duo and our music in order to be played live requires some more musicians, so we haven’t been playing any gigs yet. However, as we are developing and making more music we think of broadening the squad.
MJW: As for new albums, recently we have been working on an LP. This Thursday, Jan. 17th we are releasing a song and a music video “Memories” which is going to promote the new album under the same title. It will be released later this year.
CCA: So stay tuned and follow us on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, Deezer, and so on and so on.
Special thanks to them for this interview & I wish them nothing but luck in their success. Until then I'll catch you on the flipside! Stay awesome & rock n roll!
How'd you
get started in music?
Michał J. Walczak: The HimAir band consists of two musicians with
experience in two completely different music genres. Cezar and I started
cooperating by pure chance. Cezar would come to one of the last gigs of my acoustic
rock band, Voodoo Seeds, and asked if we could meet up and try to put together
a new tune. Only later I have learnt he was a legend and pioneer of Polish
death/black metal. His Christ Agony has also fallen apart at that point and he
wanted to try something new.
Cezary “Cezar” Augustynowicz: Yeah, I wouldn’t exaggerate so much
with that legend, but it’s true that me and my mates started the genre in
Poland. But that’s not our topic today. Nonetheless, we met up almost exactly a
year ago to try and make some songs which were later included to the rerelease
of my two-CD “Darkside” album which showed up in 1997 for the first time. “Cry
wolf” is by far my favourite song. Then, as it turned out our cooperation was
quite fruitful we decided to go with the flow and create a new music project –
HimAir.
MJW: Good to hear it (hahaha). So, in April last
year we started working on our EP, “Spiral Clock 2018” which was released at
the end od August 2018. It consists of four songs. Two of them (Not anyone’s
game and YMAR) have been video clipped by our friends from the Attic Film
Production. You can find them on our Youtube channel.
CCA: Michał was responsible for the lyrics and vocals. I on the other hand composed the tunes.

Who are
your inspirations or influences?
CCA: It’s hard to talk about specific inspirations
or influences. We do not base on any specific genre or a band. What we can say
here is that it is more about the sound of the 80s wrapped up in a modern
style. Besides we are strongly influenced by what we have been doing in the
“pre-himairan” time.
MJW: True. However, I’ve heard some people compered us to Joy Division, Dead Can Dance or Depeche Mode.
CCA: Anyway, we call it prog. black rock.

What advice
would offer aspiring performers?
CCA: Create as much as possible. But remember, not everything has to be released immediately. Even though you have no experience whatsoever, record yourself a lot. Only this way you are able to spot your strong and week parts. When you finally ready to record something, do it even with your mobile phone and send it to your friends. Let them be your first judges.
MJW: That’s right. For my part I can add that cliché everybody knows: “practice makes perfect”. By that I mean you should play gigs as of the as you can. One gig in front of people is worth 5 rehearsals. Trust me. If you don’t believe me check the Beatles’ history. Their countless gigs made them perfect and famous. Also, remember that haters are everywhere and they are the first ones to give their opinion. Don’t pay heed as they are people who either have no idea what they say or they are just jealous. On the other hand, always be open to so called constructive criticism. It is there to help you not to discredit you.

How do you
set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
MJW: Some time ago I have coined a sentence that describes us best: “To get the HimAir effect you combine two musicians of two different generations, representing music styles which are as far from each other as it is only possible.”

CCA: And he’s hit the nail on its head with that
one. Just think, how many bands do you know which consist of an acoustic rock
musician who played mostly ballads and a representative of black and death
metal for the most of his life?
MJW: Yeah, on the face of it you go: “Whaaat? Is that even possible to make anything like that work out?”. Well, we know now it actually is. And we do not stop here.

DJ Interviews: Lil Ray Gun
Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with a rapper who hails from Florida & his name is Lil Ray Gun. He had a lot to say regarding his rap career so sit back relax, & enjoy!
How’d you get started in music?
In high school, some of my homies were messing around with FL Studio and passed it onto me. We started making beats everyday and I began writing raps as well but didn’t start releasing them until recent years.
Who are your inspirations or influences?
I have so many but I would have to say Eminem is one of my biggest inspirations. I grew up listening to him the most as a kid. His lyrics really stuck out to me.
What advice would offer aspiring performers?
I would say work hard and believe in yourself. Most people doubt themselves and that kills a lot of dreams before they even begin.
How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?
I feel like I don’t really sound like a certain rapper or artist out right now. I tend to make all different kinds of sounds, never liked sticking to one genre or sound.
Any new gigs or albums in the future?
I plan on doing some shows this year. Also, I have a mixtape coming soon that I’ve been working on for months now.
I wish him luck in his career & nothing but the best. So with that said I'll see you next time, stay awesome & I'll catch you on the flipside! Rock n roll!
